How are teacher’s characteristics to young learners?
Answer : A young learner’s teacher should have several
kinds of abilities and attitudes to make a good and funny classroom atmosphere,
there are sense of humor, adaptable, patient, creative, etc. A young learner’s
teacher should master at least one ability to make an effective learning
ability such as drawing, singing,etc, because everyone would agree that
everyone or every student can singing everyone can drawing, and everyone can
create a mime even though not in a correct ways or just a simple things of
them.

How do teachers build physical surrounding to YL?
Answer : young learner have a good response to a pleasant and
familiar surrounding , so as a teacher we can put as much as possible on the
walls – a calendar, posters, drawing, song lyrics, etc. Have a simple plants,
animal figure, cartoon figure craft, and anything which add character to the
room but still leave a space for you and learners to learning.

How do teachers arrange the desk in YL classroom?
Answer : There a three types of desk arrangement, first you
can put a 2 x 2 desk on your class, means you can group your student by form a
square and make the face to face with the others, this type will make you teach
the whole class easily and make your student talk to each other. Second, you
can put the desk in a row, the students turn their backs to the teacher, this
type is not effective if you want to teach about language. Last type is almost
the same with previous type, but it’s more flexible and leave some space in the
middle to make you easily walk around.

How the teachers group the YL?
Answer : There are some kinds of type that the teachers can
do for grouping their YL, First is by doing a pair work. As its name, pairwork
means that the students work in pair, they sit face to face to each others,
this type is very efficient in language teaching. Secondly is a groupwork
method, even some most of children
didn’t love work in group, but you can introducing how to work in group.
Teacher can start by having a teachin group which is teach separately from the
rest of the class. In workgroup, you can limit numbers in the group between
three to five children per group. Children should not allowed to choose their
group because it will steal a lot of times.
5.
How is classroom language used in YL classroom ?
Answer : teacher
should tell a simple vocabularies or simple phrases to YL, for example you want
to teach about ‘classroom utensil’, you showed a scissor then say “scissor”
repeat 2 to 3 times and let your student repeat after you. Afterward, you can
teach them a simple phrases such as “I’m sorry I don’t know” or “I don’t
understand” and let the students repeat after you. Beside, you should speak
English as much as possible and speak the mother tongue only if necessary.
