The theories
of teaching listening to YL is based on Paul (2003) that said it is important
for children to listen as much English of an appropriate level as possible. For
the alternative, we can encourage the children and their parents to play tapes
or videos at home to improve students listening practice. The implementation of
listening activity depends on the situation. Read first for native speakers and
listen first for non native speakers. In practice, the teacher says new words
and let students listen and repeat then let them notice the patterns and
practice them as natural as possible.
