As we know that YL are in their time like playing, if in this listening lesson using the stories method and using puzzles and pop up books as activities for providing stories, is that effective? What if later the children are even more fun playing with puzzles and pop up books and they even ignore the listening lessons?

When we are teaching the young learners, of course there are always like some of them having a bad behavior such as screaming in the class, talking too much, eating in the class, sleeping and etc that would make the learning sessions are disturbed. So, as a good young learners teacher what we have to do to solve these problems ?

    18. @Adam in YL there is no wrong answer, because they don't understand they did wrong or true actions. As the teachers for YL, we need to do performance assessment to ensure YL understanding. If they still do mistake, just correct it

    19. @ Chyntia yes the listening is very important for students because in acquiring the skill, liatening is number 1 to be mastered. What makes good listeners: Make a listening activity to be habit and thing to be bad listeners is no practicing

Assalamualaikum. Good evening. I have a question ma'am about teaching listening to young learners. What categories are very suitable for teachers in the Class with audio when teaching listening to young learners if a children are easily unable to concentrate or focus? For example, children understand word by word, but when put together into sentences they will forget what the speaker explained in audio. Is it because of lack of vocabulary? How is the right solution and strategy? Thank you

  23. My name is Salsabil Nasywa A from 2B, I would like to ask a question. According to the video, it says that implementing listening activity is depends on the situation, we can teach listening by read the new words first or listen the new words first. But what if the teacher uses the read the new words first method in the process of implementing listening activity, but there are some young learners who apparently cannot read. Does the teacher have to change the implement activity to listen to the new words first so that young learners who cannot read can follow the process of implementing listening acitivity but those who can read become impressed wasting time, or does the teacher have to separate between young learners who can read and those who cannot in order to use a different implementation process? Thank you, ma'am.

  24. I have a question ma'am. If the teacher does the listening exercise by saying a few words the student can hear what the teacher is saying but not all students can respond quickly in listening to the words the teacher says. Is there a strategy for the teacher? so that the words can be understood by the child?

  25. Miss, I'm Indah Nurhasanah 2B. I would like to ask a question. In my experience, when I was in senior high school, actually my teacher didn't gave me listening lesson. I mean, not really. As we know the pronunciation is one of important aspect in a language,.. By listening we can know how the words pronounced. But, if we just hear it from our teacher which is not a native speaker, can we get proper pronunciation? Listening is one of language skills that is very important. It means, by listening skill we can get the meaning what people say. So, how should we do if the teacher not really give us listening lesson? They never give us example of conversation by native speaker etc.

    1. I want to answer your question winda ismanita, in my opinion the way young learners develop listening skills is by regularly listening as mentioned in Theories (Paul 2003) "that it is important for children to listen to as much English as possible". so that they increase their skills. is that enough? thank you.

I have a question ma'm, Does when teaching learning to young learners need modern facilities? For example, sophisticated audio with smooth / clean sound. The goal is that children can focus more on the speaker when learning. Can this work in listening material?

    My apologies for my lateness..
Ma'am, How to measure whether the lesson that I provide is in appropriate level or not ? as stated in Paul's theory ?

Besides, what if I think that the most important thing in the teaching listening to young learners is not at what level we 'as a teacher' give, but in our consistency in giving that listening lesson to our children's, for example; in every lesson we give a subject/material/videos to the children by the same accent continuously.

And what if I enforce to give young learners a listening lesson videos with difficult levels? what risks and dangers will occur?
