· Based
on the theories you have learnt about teaching speaking to young learners, what
Is your firstly consideration on teaching them?
> My first consideration in teaching
skills in teaching speaking skills is to teach them by giving games, because
young learners tend to prefer learning methods that have games in them so that
it will make them pay attention and practice what is explained by the teacher.
And maybe I will try the TPR method to teach young learners. This TPR method is
very easy and lightweight in terms of language use and also contains elements
of game movement so that it can relieve stress on students because of the
problems encountered in their lessons, especially when learning a foreign
language, and can also creating a positive mood in young learners that can
facilitate learning so as to increase the motivation and achievements of young
learners in these lessons.
· Why
can speaking be integrated with listening activities?
> Because the material about
listening will improve our speaking ability in English, as explained in the
audio-visual method, audio visual refers to the use of sound components (audio)
and image components (visual), it takes some equipment to be able to present
this. Films and television programs are a few examples of this audio visual
presentation. Business presentations, schools, lectures, or various other
presentations are often delivered audiovisually. In the delivery, the
presentation submits the information through audio by speaking, and clarifies
the information from the conversation by displaying various images that appear
on the screen using a projector connected to a personal computer device, or
even the presentation submitter often displays video (audiovisual) in his
presentation. so listening can improve our speking ability.
· From
the practices of teaching speaking to young learners, choose one of them and
please tell me about the procedures detail.
> In the practice of
teaching speaking role models the teacher plays a very important role in
learning, because it is very important in developing the ability of students
where the teacher provides opportunities for students to practice communicating
in different social contexts and in different social roles. In addition, this also
allows students to be creative and put themselves in the place of others for a
while. Role playing is one of the activities to promote speaking. Through
role-playing activities, students learn how to express ideas, opinions, or
feelings to others using words or articulation sounds. role playing can improve
students' speaking skills in any situation, and help students to interact.
