Summary of Teaching Listening to Young Learners
From Theories of Paul (2003) that is: Important for children to listen as much English of an appropriate level as possible, if the level is too difficult for them, they will lack confidence and positivity, We as the teachers should not expect the YL listening ability to improve much, to improve students' listening practice is we encourage the children and their parents to play tapes or videos at home or English computer software.
Implement listening activity at classroom:
depends on the situation, if the age of YL can read the words, they tend to read first.
For support listening exciting activities, do a some of game or methods, such as chopstick spelling game, Bingo, tell a stories, TPR, etc.
