Summary of Teaching Listening to Young Learners

Based on Paul, 2003 It is important for children to listen as much English of an appropriate level on possible. The teacher can implement listening activity by the listen the new word first or read the new words first. It depends on the situation. Besides it, there are some activities to teach listening to young learners in the classroom, namely Chopstick Spelling Game, Bingo Grid, Word Search Dictation, Stories and Total Physical Response (TPR). It is not enough, if they just learn at school, here is the alternative way to improve their listening practice is we encourage the young learners and their parents to play tapes or videos at home or English computer software.
